The purpose is to show children and teenagers what life could look like a long time ago; we focus on the types of tasks children were usually given at the time: Sawing wood, carrying water, washing dishes, driving the cart.
We’ll show you how children were dressed and how important they were in providing the livelihood of the families.
Often children were apprenticed at a very young age in order to learn various crafts. At Liden there was a large sawmill, flourmills and a smithy.
- We want children to gain an understanding of self-sufficiency, when everything was done on the farm.
- Students should be allowed to taste products we’ve made ourselves.
- They should also be given an insight into how children played and had fun.
